How to speed up your datacenter assessment 10x?

Assessing your company’s datacenters for migration, with any standard scanning tool, can be rather laborious and time-consuming, as there are many complexities to evaluating and scanning each unique datacenter; which the average scan tool often fails to catch. As such, this can severely hamper the Cloud migration of your company’s assets, stretching out scan times, and delaying your company’s shift to the Cloud. To eliminate delays and simplify your scan and assessment process, Corent and Lansweeper have been working together to design an intuitive solution that dramatically reduces the effort and time needed to complete each scan and build a comprehensive strategy report for Cloud migration. In this article, we will be discussing the details, application, and benefits of this novel solution, as well as how you can use it to significantly improve your Cloud migration experience.

New partnership

As briefly mentioned earlier, we are excited to announce a new partnership between Corent and Lansweeper. With this unique partnership, our two companies were able to carefully fashion an innovative, joint solution that enables customers to perform datacenter assessments with unprecedented ease. Now, using this new product, you can readily export and utilize the data collected by Lansweeper’s assessments to create a comprehensive analysis of all your data resources, helping you strategize the best plan to migrate your company’s assets to the Cloud. Benefits

Traditionally, IT professionals, who manage multiple datacenters, tend to cycle through various IT asset management tools to perform their data operations. This approach to data management is often convoluted and, when repeated regularly, becomes tedious after a certain period of time. Lansweeper eliminates these complexities and provides a much simpler user experience, allowing you to use the collected data and perform a detailed Cloud assessment, for a Cloud of your choice, within mere minutes. Now, when coupled with Corent’s SurPaaS, you can not only determine the total cost of ownership even before you migrate to the Cloud, but you can also perform a myriad of other, advanced functions. For instance, you can swiftly execute application-level analyses and come up with strategies to utilize Cloud platform services like those of PaaS, Serverless app, Containers, and Kubernetes services.

How does it work?

Now, how does this revolutionary piece of technology work? And how do you get the most out of it? It just takes three simple steps:

Step 1: Log in to Lansweeper, select the assets you want to scan, and export them into an SQL dump.

Step 2: Provision your account in Corent’s SurPaaS, log into your account, and download the Lansweeper connector utility. Running this utility will help you extract all the necessary data that needs to be uploaded into SurPaaS.

Step 3: Upload these data files, select the Cloud or list of Clouds that you want to perform an analysis on, and run the analysis. Upon completing this, you can review the report, make any changes, and rerun the report until you are satisfied with the analysis.

With this information, you can formulate your migration strategy to conform with the Cloud of your choice. Additionally, we, at Corent, also offer an integrated migration tool that you can readily use to start migrating to your Cloud account; which we will discuss in a later article.
