Assessment for Microsoft Azure Migration
The customer is renowned name in the production of specialized connecting components for electrical systems. It has over six decades of experience in addressing connection problems through specialized solutions that ensure trouble-free, long-lasting power transmission. The customer wanted to migrate to the Cloud and approached one of Corent’s partners seeking their expertise in charting out the migration course. The partner carried out a detailed scan of the customer’s environment and generated incisive reports to help the latter plan its migration journey.
Corent’s partner used MaaS to deliver Cloud assessment services to its customer. The partner scanned and assessed the customer’s datacenter using MaaS and generated detailed reports. The reports on migration feasibilities for the datacenter and its servers were shared with the customer.

Challenges:
Identifying the IP addresses in the 30-odd servers in the datacenter.
Mapping the dependency between servers and identifying the inter-server communications.
Tracing the performance metrics of the entire infrastructure.
Conducting a cost analysis and charting out an optimum migration plan.
Carrying out the Move Group Analysis to identify the Reserve Instance Cost.
Solution:
Using subnet, MaaS discovered the IP addresses and performed an agentless scan.
MaaS retrieved the communication ports along with process information and ID, based on which inter-server dependencies were identified.
Performance metrics of the infrastructure was captured by MaaS, based on which the equivalence match was calculated for rightsizing
Report generated by MaaS provided sufficient information on TCO; MaaS also delivered relevant advisories for better migration planning.
Based on the move group identified by MaaS, the Reserve Instance cost could be calculated for 1 and 3 years.
Result:
By using MaaS, the partner helped the customer to analyze their datacenter and formulate an optimum migration strategy for Microsoft Azure.
